The idea for these vessels originated on the island of Java from the statues of the bride and groom Loro Blonyo. The wedding guests have them made of wood and are often richly decorated and painted. The newlyweds receive these statues as a wedding gift and vary in size depending on the status of the family.
Designers Eva and Marcel Mochal adapted this custom to European conditions. And because guests at some weddings "collect" money for the beginning of the couple's life together, they can pass it on in these boxes. Then they can serve in various ways - as a vase, jar or light object, by placing a small cold light inside.
