KNIHY

A comic book novel.
Our story begins with the discovery of the famous painting by Max Švabinský. Behind the calm face in the portrait is an exceptional woman. Baroness Sidonia Nádherná (1885–1950) is remembered by history as a muse who was regularly visited by Rainer Maria Rilke and Karl Kraus at the Vrchotovy Janovice chateau. Through four chapters devoted to relationships with the most important men of her life, we discover another personality. Sidonie was not only a receptive and educated femme fatale, but also a strong and emancipated woman with a rich inner world. She loved art, travel and nature, she was one of the first ecologists and holders of a driver's license in our country. In her letters and diaries, she comments on the dramatic twists and turns of the 20th century and the futile effort to save the family heritage. Her emphasis on equality, freedom, care for the environment and the development of her own spirit remains inspiring to this day.
