The story of the book Anička, the talking stream and other inmates of the Mrs. Majerová's institute takes place in today's old house in Černošice, which is known to have served as an orphanage in 1913–1920.
Ancient history comes to life in the mysterious figure of Mrs. Majerová, who walks through the house and garden and takes care of its inhabitants, as well as years ago about the small inmate of her institute. This will happen to half-year-old Anička, her parents now own a house, as well as their two dogs and a turtle. They are all drawn into the everyday reality of the institute, and thus into the whirlwind of events in which they have no choice but to speak human language and face the pitfalls and threats facing the house of the past. At the same time, however, they live their normal lives as infants and pets - events take place in two worlds at the same time, passing by and permeating at the same time.
The horror story of the Czech writer and philosopher Petr Koťátko is complemented by verse passages, there are also basic facts about the story accompanied by photographs, all permeated with fragile illustrations by the author's daughter, the acclaimed artist Eva Koťátková.
The book was nominated for the Magnesia Litera 2019 award in the category of titles for children and youth.
