Vladimír Kopecký at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. He worked for ten years as the manager of the mould melted glass studio Lhotský s.r.o., and at the same time he created his own artistic and design objects.
He currently works as a teacher in the Glass and Jewelery Studio at the Department of Design of the Technical University of Liberec.
His works is a combination of two glass techniques, by pouring hot glass from a glass whistle into a predefined shape made by melting glass into a mold (so-called melting), thus symbolically combining its two opposing natures: mind (rational approach to creating glass art) and intuition (emotions). His way of work is thus an internal "Metamorphosis of the senses" that takes place inside him. It is the very first combination of these two techniques in the world of glass art.
